1st Cruise Ship Arrived to Prince Bay Port in Shekou, Shenzhen

Super StarVirgo of Star Cruises pulled into the new Prince Bay Port in Shekou, Shenzhen on Friday afternoon October 14th, 2016; ahead of its opening party.

The opening celebration event was held from 6pm til after midnight where guests were given a tour, provided a presentation about the cruises, enjoyed dinner and were treated to a party by BeatShip.

Star Cruises invited members of the China Merchants Group, the Shenzhen Travel Association and media to have a first hand look and to witness the signing of the strategic partnership between Star Cruises and the Shenzhen Travel Association.

After the ceremony, we spoke with Captain Jan Blomqvist from Finland who tells us their homeport was Nansha, Guangzhou for 10 months before moving here to Prince Bay Port in Shekou, Shenzhen.

After the dinner and presentation we were given a chance to tour the cabins. Here's a video of the executive suite. For photos of the other cabins, click here.

The night wrapped up with a party by Beat Ship with dancing girls as well as some lucky draw prizes. See video below. Unfortunately, I didn't win anything but overall we were impressed by SuperStar Virgo and their very friendly and highly attentive staff. We look forward to embarking again soon.
